What a bold, mad act of genius it was, to make “Lawrence of Arabia.  The superlatives are endless, Lawrence of Arabia is truly an piece of epic film making – grand in scope with stunning cinematography, a magnificent and beautiful score and cast full of brilliant groundbreaking performances.  On video, it crouches inside a box like a tall man in a low room. You can get an idea of its story and a hint of its majesty, but to get the feeling of David Lean’s masterpiece you need to see it on a big screen. This experience is on the short list of things that must be done during the lifetime of every lover of film.
